    Design & Pre-Construction Consultant (Residential Renovations) Greensboro, NC (On-Site) MUST BE WITHIN 40 MILES OF GREENSBORO TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION. Base Salary + Performance Incentives (On-Target Earnings: $100,000–$130,000+) About the Role At KC’s Improvement & Construction, we don’t just renovate homes—we guide homeowners through one of the most important investments they’ll make. We are seeking a Design & Pre-Construction Consultant to lead clients through the early stages of their renovation journey—from initial consultation through scope development, budgeting, and project commitment. This is a high-impact, client-facing role that blends sales, construction knowledge, and project planning within our design-build process. You will serve as a trusted advisor to homeowners while ensuring projects are clearly defined, financially viable, and ready for a smooth transition into production. Core Responsibilities: Client Consultation & Sales • Lead initial consultations with homeowners to understand goals, lifestyle needs, and vision • Build trust and guide clients toward confident decisions • Convert qualified leads into signed design agreements and construction projects Scope Development & Pre-Construction Planning • Translate client ideas into clear, buildable scopes of work • Develop preliminary budgets and investment ranges aligned with client expectations • Collaborate with internal team members and trade partners to validate scope, feasibility, and pricing Estimating & Proposal Creation • Coordinate estimating efforts, including subcontractor and vendor input • Prepare clear, professional proposals that communicate scope, cost, and next steps • Ensure accuracy and alignment between proposed and final project outcomes Project Handoff & Team Alignment • Document client expectations, priorities, and scope details thoroughly • Facilitate a clean handoff to the production team with minimal gaps or rework • Support continuity between pre-construction and execution phases Client Experience • Serve as the primary point of contact during the planning phase • Maintain proactive, clear communication with clients • Deliver a high-quality, consultative experience that reflects KC’s values What Success Looks Like • Strong consultation-to-project conversion rate • Consistent generation of signed projects and revenue • Project scopes and budgets that align closely with final costs (minimal surprises) • High client satisfaction during the pre-construction phase • Clean, well-documented handoffs to the production team Qualifications: • Background in residential construction, renovation, estimating, or related field • Strong ability to develop scopes of work, budgets, and proposals • Experience working with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills • Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities • Proficiency with construction/project management software (e.g., JobTread or similar) Compensation: $50,000 yearly base salary + upside commission
