Description
The position focuses on installer management in new home construction to ensure quality installations are delivered to our clients. The primary responsibility of a Field Manager is to manage installers, job-sites and oversee installations in the field. Other responsibilities include pre-inspections for job readiness conditions, timely completions, and post inspections to ensure we are providing quality installations with zero defects. The Field Manager position requires a journeyman knowledge and skill-sets to prepare and install all types of flooring including tile and stone.
POSITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible to pre-inspect job readiness conditions, and identify sub standard work of others that will affect the installations for which we will have responsibility of. Ensure all corrections are made before installation begins
Conducting daily walks of installations through each phase
Routine walks at start of the installations, during the installation and final walk at completion
Ensure prepared substrates meet all industry specifications in which flooring is to be installed. These areas will primarily be concrete and wood substrates
Responsible for the training and instructing the skill-sets necessary in proper installation techniques
Responsible for managing installer performance and conduct on the job-sites
Responsible for post inspecting all work upon completion to ensure all quality expectations have been met. When required, finished work will be signed off and accepted by the builder
Responsible for building and maintaining interpersonal relationships with coworkers and builder representatives
Requirements
COMPETENCIES, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Ability to read and understand work orders, blue prints, and correlate with diagrams showing designs using varying types of materials and patterns. All work instructions are to be verified to match provided diagrams, and any discrepancies are to be resolved before work begins
Ability to properly layout insets, accents, and patterns to fit the areas to be installed while achieving the intended design
Complete product knowledge and understanding of the appropriate use with diverse types of adhesives, caulking, sealers, floor prep products, and cement mortars / grouts
Must be able to work in and adjust to varying job-site conditions typical in new home construction
Must have the ability to resolve issues such as scheduling conflicts or substandard work by other trades with the builder’s representative. Any adjustments to the schedule or issues that cannot be worked out in a timely manner must be reported to the office immediately.
