JOB SUMMARY:
The Residential HVAC Installer is responsible for installing HVAC systems and components for residential customers. This includes furnaces, air conditioning units, ductwork, thermostats, and related equipment. The ideal candidate should be able to read and interpret blueprints, ensure system functionality, and deliver a clean, timely, and professional installation with attention to detail and customer communication.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in accordance with company standards and local building codes
Install ductwork, refrigerant lines, electrical wiring, and thermostats
Perform start-up, testing, and commissioning of newly installed systems
Ensure all work meets or exceeds code requirements and company quality standards
Communicate with customers regarding installation progress, system operation, and maintenance tips
Complete all necessary documentation including job completion forms, installation checklists, and customer sign-offs
Maintain a clean and organized work environment including tools, truck, and job site
Follow all safety procedures and participate in required safety training
Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and other trades as needed
Stay up to date on industry standards and manufacturer guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required
5+ years of experience in residential HVAC installation preferred
EPA Certification required (Type II or Universal)
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and installation manuals
Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
NATE certification a plus
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability to work in confined spaces, attics, and rooftops
Able to lift and carry up to 75 lbs.
Capable of working in a variety of weather conditions
Must be able to climb ladders, bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods
