Residential HVAC Service Technician – Advanced Service & Design Advisor
On The Way AC is hiring residential HVAC technicians who want to work in a disciplined operation where problems are diagnosed correctly, systems are fixed the right way, and technicians are expected to carry the call from diagnosis through customer decision.
This is not a run-and-gun shop.
This is not a parts-changing environment.
Most calls are service and maintenance. When a system is unsafe, poorly designed, or repeatedly failing, technicians here are responsible for explaining the issue, presenting the correct solution, and helping the customer move forward —not handing it off and walking away.
Clear standards on every call
Proven service and system-correction process
Technicians own the conversation , not just the wrench work
Sales happens through education and verification—not pressure
Clean handoffs so what's sold gets built correctly
Leadership that enforces quality and consistency
This role exists for technicians who want responsibility and the upside that comes with it.
Perform residential HVAC maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs
Identify true system issues (airflow, duct design, static pressure, sizing, safety concerns)
Communicate findings clearly and professionally to homeowners
Present repair, correction, and replacement options
Guide the customer to a decision when work beyond basic repair is needed
Re-check system operation before leaving
Document findings accurately so nothing is lost downstream
Maintain a clean, organized truck and professional appearance
Coordinate with install and service leadership on larger scopes
You are not expected to pressure customers.
You are expected to confidently close work that is appropriate and justified.
Top performers here are:
Technicians first — quality matters
Comfortable having the full customer conversation
Process-driven — consistency beats improvisation
Coach-able — feedback improves performance
Accountable — you own the outcome of the call
This is not a fit for technicians who want to diagnose and leave without discussing solutions.
Structured scheduling
Rotational on-call with balanced coverage
Strong daytime execution keeps after-hours work reasonable
This is a performance-based technician role with meaningful upside.
Compensation reflects:
Diagnostic accuracy
Communication quality

Details are discussed during the interview based on experience and role level. Technicians who consistently own the call earn significantly more.

Residential service experience
Strong customer communication
Willingness to follow established process and standards

If you want:
To run the entire call—not just part of it

We want to talk.
