About Us Southern Fireplace and Garage Door is a fast-growing company serving homeowners and builders across the Carolinas. We specialize in high-quality fireplaces and garage doors, with a strong reputation for service, craftsmanship, and customer care. We are currently seeking a motivated Residential Homeowner & Builder Sales Representative to join our expanding team.
Position Overview The Sales Representative will be responsible for driving revenue through direct homeowner sales as well as business development with regional production home builders and custom home builders. This individual will identify target customers, pursue new opportunities, prepare bids and proposals, and maintain long-term relationships with clients. A strong ability to read construction plans, communicate effectively, and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment is essential.
Key Responsibilities • Identify and pursue new sales opportunities with homeowners, production builders, and custom builders. • Conduct sales calls, job site visits, and customer meetings to promote products and services. • Develop proposals and bids by collecting and analyzing project information. • Maintain high levels of customer contact through regular visits and calls. • Service existing accounts by providing product knowledge, timely information, and customized solutions. • Estimate materials from construction blueprints and specifications. • Assist customers with product selection tailored to their needs. • Prepare and communicate price quotations, terms of sale, and delivery/service timelines. • Resolve customer concerns and ensure satisfaction. • Attend builder meetings as required. • Report competitive pricing, products, and market trends to management. • Assist with collections of accounts receivable when necessary.
Requirements • General knowledge of residential construction. • Ability to read and interpret house plans, selections, and specifications. • Prior experience selling to production builders strongly preferred. • Strong phone, email, and in-person communication skills. • Ability to multi-task in a busy environment while maintaining accuracy. • Strong problem-solving skills with a sense of urgency and initiative. • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and typing. • Excellent organizational and time management skills. • Ability to provide clear, concise instructions to support staff. • Willingness to attend builder meetings and job sites as needed. • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
Qualifications • Sales experience required (homeowner and builder-market sales a major plus). • Experience with residential construction or building products preferred. • Strong presentation skills and attention to detail. • Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities. • Track record of achieving sales targets and maintaining client relationships.
