    Position Summary

    We are seeking an experienced Residential Remodeling Estimator with a strong background in general remodeling and carpentry. The ideal candidate will have expertise in areas such as demo, framing, trim work, and cabinet installation, and will play a key role in producing accurate estimates to support profitable, high-quality residential projects.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Conduct on-site assessments to scope residential remodeling work, with a focus on carpentry (framing, trim, demo, cabinet installs).
    • Identify potential project challenges or additional work requirements (e.g., structural issues, repairs, layout changes).
    • Create detailed written estimates covering materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractors when needed.
    • Work closely with suppliers to obtain up-to-date material pricing and availability.
    • Maintain and update internal databases for labor and material costs.
    • Clearly communicate project scope, pricing, and options to clients.
    • Prepare and follow up on bid proposals; revise estimates as needed based on client or project changes.
    • Assist with aligning project schedules to estimate timelines.
    • Monitor project costs compared to estimates, including tracking change orders.

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

    • Ability to read and interpret architectural or remodeling plans and blueprints.
    • Familiarity with local residential construction codes and standards.
    • Strong math and analytical skills, with excellent attention to detail.
    • Proficiency in estimating software or advanced spreadsheet tools (Excel, Google Sheets).
    • Professional communication skills — able to clearly explain scopes and pricing to clients.
    • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

    Education & Experience

    • Previous experience working with general contractors or remodeling firms.
    • 5 to 10 years of Estimating or Construction Management experience.
    • High school diploma or equivalent required; further education in construction or estimating is a plus.
    • Proven experience estimating for residential remodeling projects, with a strong focus on carpentry and general construction.
    • Hands-on knowledge of demo, framing, trim, and cabinet installation.
