Position Summary
We are seeking a compassionate, dedicated Residential Specialist to join our team. This role is essential in maintaining a structured, trauma-informed living environment that promotes the well-being, growth, and safety of our residents. You will serve as a mentor, role model, and caretaker, helping our youth navigate daily life and develop critical life skills.
Key Responsibilities
Supervise and engage youth in daily routines and activities, including meals, hygiene, schoolwork, recreation, and bedtime.
Promote a safe and structured environment by enforcing program rules, setting healthy boundaries, and utilizing trauma-informed care practices.
Build positive, trusting relationships with residents through consistent, respectful, and professional interactions.
Monitor and document behaviors, progress, incidents, and daily activities in accordance with licensing and agency standards.
Assist in implementing individualized treatment plans and collaborate with clinical staff to support therapeutic goals.
Intervene in crisis situations using approved de-escalation and behavior management techniques.
Participate in team meetings, staff training, and ongoing professional development.
Administer medications (if certified) and provide basic medical support as directed.
Transport residents to appointments, school, outings, or court hearings as needed (valid driver's license required).
Maintain cleanliness and order of the residential facility, including supervision of resident chores.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Education, or related field preferred.
Minimum of 1 year experience working with youth in a residential, educational, or mental health setting preferred.
Must be at least 21 years old.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass a background check, and obtain CPR/First Aid certification.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Emotionally resilient with the ability to manage stressful situations calmly and effectively.
Commitment to trauma-informed care, cultural competency, and youth development principles.
Schedule & Compensation
Flexible shifts: day, evening, overnight, weekend
