A&E Plumbing, Heating & Air is growing fast, and we’re looking for a top-tier HVAC Service Technician who can own their day, solve complex problems, and deliver premium customer experiences. Position Overview:
The High-Level Service Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential and light commercial HVAC systems at an expert level. This role requires advanced troubleshooting ability, clean documentation, and the ability to educate customers and present solutions professionally.
Key Responsibilities Technical Expertise:
Diagnose and repair gas furnaces, heat pumps, ductless systems, air handlers, AC units, and ventilation systems.
Perform advanced electrical and refrigeration troubleshooting.
Handle both standard and complex service calls with minimal oversight.
Perform high-quality maintenance with full system documentation and recommendations.
Install common service-level components (motors, boards, compressors, thermostats, drains, safeties, etc.).
Customer Service & Sales:
Communicate clearly with homeowners and present repair options with integrity.
Build trust through accurate explanations and honest recommendations.
Provide written estimates and document declined recommendations.
Uphold high close-rates without pressure or gimmicks—solution-based selling only.
Operational Excellence:
Maintain high billable efficiency and follow company-standard tasking/pricing.
Fill out Service Titan (or other CRM) invoices thoroughly and professionally.
Maintain a clean, fully stocked company vehicle.
Follow all safety protocols and manufacturer specifications.
Qualifications:
5+ years of residential or light commercial HVAC service experience
EPA 608 Certification
Strong electrical and refrigeration troubleshooting skills
Ability to perform high-level diagnostics independently
Clean driving record
Excellent communication and customer-service skills
Capable of working on roofs, in crawlspaces, and in varying weather conditions
Preferred (Not Required):
NATE Certification
Experience with Service Titan
Ductless/VRF knowledge
Boiler experience
Oil Furnace experience
