As the DevOps Engineer, you will be a key member of the software development team, working to deploy, monitor, and operate our software across key production systems that serve tens of thousands of customers. You will have a strong impact on user experience, customer satisfaction, and company growth. You will also work in an Agile environment utilizing modern tools such as AWS, Terraform, Ansible, and Packer. Additionally, you will: 

• Design and operate production and development infrastructure
• Create, document, and implement procedures surrounding change management
• Monitor health and performance of systems and network infrastructure for production platform
• Configure proactive alerts for critical system and application resources
• Manage code promotion and deployment to production servers
• Advise development team to increase application resiliency and operability
• Identify points of failure and recommend solutions

What You’ll Need to be Successful:

• Strong experience with software configuration management (SCM) and tools (Chef, Puppet, Ansible)
• Strong experience with cloud platforms, primarily AWS
• Understanding of automated deployment methodologies and software such as CI/CD/CM (we use Jenkins)
• Experience with Windows and Linux systems and tools
• Experience with automated build systems (Jenkins, Bamboo)
• Familiarity with containerization technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, Rancher, and similar
• Proficiency with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, Perl, and PowerShell
• Knowledge of load balancing, reverse proxies, distributed caches, and other cluster technologies
• Knowledge of HTTP and web-oriented technologies
• Knowledge of IP networking, including TCP, UDP, firewalls, and SSL
• Security-minded at all levels

Great Additional Skills:

• Experience with Docker and containers
• Experience with NGINX, Redis, Memcached, ElasticSearch, Logstash, and Kibana
• Experience with NoSQL and/or "Big Data" technologies
• Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server administration, clustering, and/or performance analysis
• Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory domains and security
