As the Manufacturing Science and Tech Specialist, you will work with more complex databases and data requirements. You will provide protocol and report writing and coordinate other specialists' schedules and work. You will also resolve more complex tracking and trending issues, and support investigations and tech transfer. Additionally, you will:
- Analyze data
- Write documents and reports
- Support investigations as needed
- Mentor and train lower specialists
- Review and validate work
- Present data to other groups
- Execute experiments with some guidance from your manager; initiate independent experiments
- Review documentation
- Represent your group in interactions with other colleagues
- Work with external vendors and suppliers
- Provide help in identifying and developing new processes
- Assist with the design and execution of process scale-up and process optimization experiments under your manager’s supervision
- Assist with technology transfer from the development group to the manufacturing group
- Summarize results in development reports and presentations
- Assist the manufacturing group with SOP, STM, and batch record writing
- Assist the manufacturing group with resolution of process deviations and change control
- Assist with the maintenance and day to day operation of the process development lab
- Support production of critical raw materials, process intermediates, and/or drug substance
- Travel occasionally to the company R&I facility in Quebec
What You’ll Need to be Successful:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical engineering or science field; Masters preferred
- Strong understanding of the scientific process and the methodology behind manufacturing
- Basic statistical knowledge
- Well versed in different purification of filtration techniques
- Experience with statistical software package
