    Resource Counselor

    Make a difference by helping individuals and families navigate care and community resources.

    Position Summary

    The Resource Counselor serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking information about long-term care services and community resources. This role provides professional, unbiased guidance and referrals, helping individuals, caregivers, and professionals identify needs and connect to appropriate services in a timely, person-centered manner.

    What You'll Do

    • Respond to inquiries from community members, caregivers, and professionals
    • Provide accurate information and referrals to services within JABA and the community
    • Use a person-centered approach to assess needs, preferences, and goals
    • Maintain accurate records and complete timely data entry
    • Research and stay current on available programs and resources
    • Collaborate with internal teams and community partners
    • Represent JABA at meetings and occasional community events

    Qualifications

    • Associate degree or higher preferred
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience in human services or a related field

    Certifications (Required)

    • Options Counselor Certification within 3 months of hire
    • Inform USA (The Association for Community Navigators) Certification within 1 year of hire

    Work Environment & Schedule

    • Primarily office-based with some local travel
    • Part-time (20 hours/week)
    • Occasional attendance at community events

    Physical Demands

    • Primarily sedentary work with extended periods of sitting
    • Frequent communication with the public, including individuals with vision, hearing, cognitive, or other disabilities
    • Regular use of a computer for data entry and documentation
    • Participation in virtual and in-person meetings
    • Occasional local travel and community event participation
