    SUMMARY

    Complete P&L responsibility for a multi-shift precious metals mining and processing facility. Responsible for the safety of company employees and on-site contractors. Oversight of all production, maintenance and CAPEX efforts for the facility. Plans, evaluates, implements and monitors mine plans to minimize costs and meet quality and regulatory needs. Develop hourly and salaried workforce.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Delivers strategic leadership and management practices to the organization in support of the company’s business strategy. Ensures continual process improvement.
    • Supervision of all company operational employees and on-site contractors. Oversight of all site CAPEX.
    • Communicates and promotes safety, compliance and environmental requirements in alignment with company standards. Leads by example. Creates and enforces a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. Responsible for maintaining safe working environments and ensuring compliance with local, state and federal safety regulations.
    • Responds to and maintains positive employer-employee relationships that contribute to satisfactory productivity, motivation and morale. Prevents and resolves problems involving individuals when they arise. Motivates coaches and mentors employees to build effective teams.
    • Ensures adherence to budget and optimizes processes to achieve greater operational effectiveness. Oversees and directs the preparation of operating budgets. Conducts operations reviews to assess all cost drivers that impact financials.
    • Develops staffing plans. Responsible for personnel management including recruitment, supervision, disciplinary actions, performance appraisals and terminations. Prioritizes staff workloads in order to meet product needs/objectives in all areas. Develops and trains staff to ensure high skill levels.
    • Ensure compliance with all MSHA and federal/state environmental regulations.
    • Create management training and development programs as necessary.

    REQUIREMENTS

    • 15+ years of experience working in a mining production environment to include experience within precious metals mining operations.
    • 7+ years of Operations Management experience to include a proven history of developing employees and teams, improving operational processes, reducing costs, and maintaining successful safety programs.
    • A bachelors degree in engineering, geology or a related field is a plus.
    • Prior experience developing and executing mine plans.
    • Demonstrate the initiative to identify problems and opportunities and take action independently.
    • Knowledge of preventative maintenance principles and practices.
    • In order to lead by example, must have prior hands-on maintenance and production experience.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an MSHA regulatory environment preferred.
