    SUMMARY:

    Responsible for directing the planning and engineering of mining operations while maintaining a safety first attitude. This position requires the management of resources in adherence with all company standards, policies and procedures, as well as compliance with all federal and state regulations, including OSHA, MSHA, TCEQ etc. This position will need to be able to provide strong leadership, training, team building and supervision with an emphasis on employee development.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Coordinate with safety to ensure that mining operations are as safe and as environmentally friendly as possible.
    • Understand the planning, permitting, and design of production facilities related to the aggregate and mineral processing industries.
    • Assist various Plant/Production Managers as needed with analysis of geology and mine planning.
    • Plan and oversee engineering aspects of mine development.
    • Evaluate technical operating efficiency of mine production equipment.
    • Draw up technical reports for managers.
    • Tracking rates of production and evaluating the operation’s effectiveness by addressing operational issues, performing informal inspections and establishing rapport in order to offer assistance.
    • Schedules work to meet deadlines and technical specifications.
    • Assist area managers in the development of capital improvement projects ranging in all sizes related to aggregate plant equipment up to and including total plant construction and greenfield operations.
    • Manage approved CAPEX projects from design through commission including the management of contractors and vendors.
    • Develop mine planning optimization to maximize the NPV of each site’s reserves.
    • Ensure maximum productivity and extraction rates by analyzing mining methods, procedures and equipment.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mining, Civil, or related Engineering discipline.
    • At least 5 to 7 years of mining or aggregate industry experience.
    • Knowledge of design specifications, mine planning and mine optimization.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office products, Carlson, Aggflow and ability to adapt to other computer software.
    • Must be willing to travel and work away from home approximately 50%.
    • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
