    SUMMARY

    The E&I Supervisor is responsible for training and mentoring staff, creating work schedules, providing technical assistance, and troubleshooting system issues. The Shift Supervisor will direct a crew of 5-10 employees with responsibility for safety and quality of work. To ensure success as an E&I Supervisor, you should exhibit strong leadership skills and have sound knowledge of industrial and commercial electrical systems. A top-class E&I Supervisor will ensure that all electrical work done on site is completed on time and to code.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Designing and implementing work schedules for the electrical staff
    • Providing motivation and assistance when necessary
    • Inspecting and assessing the work done by the electrical staff
    • Reading and interpreting design schematics to ensure the proper installation of electrical systems
    • Troubleshooting major system failures and equipment malfunctions
    • Repairing and maintaining electrical equipment
    • Ensuring the work is completed on schedule and to code
    • Maintaining a safe and clean work area
    • Consulting with builders, architects, and other workers onsite
    • Make repairs to electrical power, motor and motor control circuits
    • Evaluate process trends to track, troubleshoot and adjust process variables
    • Completes any other tasks as needed or as directed by management

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum 8 years in a chemical plant, heavy industrial or mine is preferred
    • 5 years prior experience leading team or supervising personnel
    • Experience with 480VAC +, VFD’s, motor control, troubleshooting electrical in industrial setting
    • Troubleshooting, repair and PM/calibration of a wide range of instrumentation (temp, flow, proximity, pressure, valves, gas sensors, pH, etc.)
    • Experience with DCS and PLC control systems
    • Ability to troubleshoot PLC programs, simulate signals, calibrate instruments
    • Experience working in an environment with work orders and PM’s
    • Experience with reliability-based maintenance
    • Must have the ability to interpret schematic drawings (to component level) of pneumatic loops, hardware relay logic diagrams, PLC control programs, motor control circuit diagrams, etc.
    • Experience in process improvements from concept (identification, scoping, and design procurement) to installation.

    REQUIRED EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred, or 8 years of related field experience is required in lieu of degree.
    • Valid Driver’s License and a good driving record are required in order to drive company vehicles on property.

    SPECIALIZED SKILLS

    • Ability to read and understand PFD’s and P&ID’s
    • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
    • SAP experience is preferred
    • Excellent written and verbal skills required
