    SUMMARY

    Work closely with the engineering team to complete capital projects in support of current and future stages of plant operations. This individual will be responsible for interfacing with contractors, identifying & scoping new projects, leading project teams, tracking and controlling budgets, and monitoring the schedules and quality of project execution.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Interfaces with various departments as necessary to successfully execute and close out projects while integrating them into existing operations
    • Meeting safety requirements of both the facility and regulating bodies
    • Specification and design of new capital equipment and systems
    • Working with process engineering, management of project from start to finish (identification, project scope, design, project approval
    • Scheduling, procurement, installation, startup/commissioning
    • Communication and tracking of project timeline and financial reporting
    • Drawing generation and oversight of construction & installation (PFD, P&ID, general layout, mechanical, assembly, electrical, control drawings)
    • Supervision of construction contractors and design firms
    • Troubleshoot system problems and resolve by modification, replacement
    • Assist instrument techs, mechanics, electricians in troubleshooting and setup of equipment
    • Maintains all drawings for projects along with design basis and historical records of the project
    • Create and maintain control documents, P&ID's, process control procedures, design basis procedures, and equipment data sheets

    REQUIREMENTS

    • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical, or a related field. ABET accredited institution preferred.
    • 3+ years as a Project Engineer in a Chemical, Mining, Petroleum or heavy industrial setting
    • Project scheduling, Gantt chart creation
    • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record are required to drive company vehicles on and off the property

    SKILLS

    • Experience with the following unit operations is preferred:
    • Reactors, agitated tanks, piping design, various filters, centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, PLC control systems, various instrumentation
    • (pressure, flow, temperature, level, pH, density, etc.) , wet scrubbers, kilns/calciners, dryers, etc.
    • Small to medium-sized capital projects ($2MM+), project management skills, and handling project reporting requirements
    • Experience in process improvements from concept (identification, scoping, design, procurement) to installation preferred
    • Leading a cross-departmental team or individual effort
    • Knowledge of how to create, read and modify PFD’s and P&ID’s
    • Good written and verbal skills
    • Computer skills should include Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Microsoft Project
