SUMMARY:
P&L responsibility for multiple sand and gravel quarries, recycle, and ready-mix plant operations.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement, and maintain an effective, efficient organizational structure to successfully support current and future business strategies.
- Lead change management activities and provide strong leadership to the localization teams by encouraging diversity of thought, focusing on employee development and performance, and ensuring teams continually acquire new technology and management skills.
- Responsible for annual budgets and operating metrics.
- Participate and contribute to the evaluation and development of operational strategy and performance in cooperation with senior management.
- Manages and directs plants to ensure that Company is maximizing return on its assets.
- Ensures that all assigned plants have zero accidents and are in full compliance with all Company and Division SHE policies and procedures. Ensures sites meet or exceed Company and Division SHE goals and objectives.
- Works with sales in addressing customer relations and customer service requirements to ensure Operations meets or exceeds customer expectations.
- Works on strategies and programs to reduce costs, improve productivity and efficiency through capital and people.
- Other duties may be assigned as required.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS degree in Engineering or Management or an equivalent combination of training and work experience is required. Advanced degree or MBA is preferred.
- Must have excellent managerial and supervisory skills, including budgeting, development of personnel, recruitment of talent, development of new sites, regulatory practices and procedures, and long-range planning.
- Knowledge of construction material production methods, products, and technology is highly desirable.
- Ability to trend performance of operating units versus key business goals and take effective action when results are below these goals.
- Ability to effectively interface with all levels of people and knowledge or modern motivation principles and practices.
- Excellent interpersonal skills including both written and oral; knowledge and understanding of modern purchasing and procurement practices.
- Strong computer experience with Microsoft Office products.
- Ability to work closely with and integrate sales, marketing, financial, and operations disciplines to maximize division performance.
