SUMMARY

Managed capital projects and assist with the engineering needs related to underground mining and minerals processing operations. Projects will vary in scope and may involve work related to maintenance, reliability, civil and mining engineering, mechanical (eg. bulk material handling), exploration, logistics and other.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Improving Operational Excellence (e.g., OEE, CIP, & SPC tools).
• Develop, manage and maintain strategic projects.
• Manage capital projects from initial concepts and justification through installation.
• Support operations with mix of Process, Project, Industrial, Structural, and Plant engineering (knowledge of machining, fabrication and construction).
• Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement regarding operational costs.
• Fully supports EHS & S requirements and compliance and contractor training. Training is critical to growth and improvement and is interwoven throughout operations (EHS, Hearts & Minds, Top9, CIP, etc).
• Use AutoCad to design improvements, edit drawings, and record details.
• Cost effective purchasing of MRO supplies and assisting in developing capital/expense budgets.

REQUIREMENTS

• Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent preferred; related technical certification(s) may also be considered in absence of a 4-year degree.
• Mining Engineering experience a plus
• PMP certification a plus
• Experience in maintenance or construction
• Competent Windows-based computer skills; spreadsheet skills required
• Analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work outside under extreme conditions
• 3 – 8 years of experience in Project Management/Mine Engineering or equivalent
