Position: Respiratory Therapist

Pay: $35-$40 per hour

Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for evaluating, treating, and caring for patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders. This role involves administering respiratory therapies, operating life-support equipment, and collaborating with physicians and nursing staff to deliver high-quality patient care across various clinical settings.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, treat, and monitor patients with acute and chronic respiratory conditions

Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and chest physiotherapy

Perform arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and analysis

Manage and monitor ventilators, BiPAP/CPAP, and other life-support systems

Respond to emergency situations, including code blues and rapid response calls

Perform pulmonary function testing as required

Educate patients and families on respiratory treatments and equipment use

Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in electronic medical records

Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control procedures

Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Qualifications & Requirements

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program

Current state Respiratory Therapist license (RT or RRT)

Active BLS certification (ACLS, PALS preferred depending on facility)

NBRC credentialing required

Strong knowledge of respiratory care procedures and equipment

Ability to work independently and as part of a team
