The Role… A Restaurant Host is responsible for setting the tone for a genuine and exceptional experience. The person in this position must have an approachable, professional, and upbeat personality with a desire to deliver outstanding and welcoming service to our guests. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to, welcoming patrons, seating them at tables or in the lounge, properly pacing the floor, assisting with large party coordination and helping to ensure the quality of the facility and service.
The person who has this position must possess good communication skills, have the ability to resolve conflicts and have a thorough understanding of LINE policies, procedures and expectations. Because of the fluctuating demands of the company’s operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different functions; therefore, as an essential part of your position, you will be expected to help others when the occasion arises, just as other employee is expected to help you. Accordingly, you may be expected to perform other tasks as needed or as directed.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Welcome every guest as if we’ve been eagerly waiting for their arrival, setting the tone with genuine warmth and attentive hospitality.
Foster strong communication and teamwork with fellow colleagues and all hotel departments to ensure seamless service.
Create an enjoyable, memorable experience by building authentic connections rooted in care, professionalism, and the LINE’s standards of excellence.
Ensure menus are clean, well-stocked, and presentable always.
Accurately map reservations and the floor plan, sharing all relevant notes with the server when seating, and communicating any allergies immediately to both the server and the manager.
Engage with guests to confirm their satisfaction, addressing concerns promptly and thoughtfully to uphold a best-in-class dining experience
Maintain contact with Kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly, and customers' concerns are addressed
Inform patrons of establishment specialties and features
If there's a wait, kindly direct the guest to the bar for a cocktail
Operate cash registers to accept payments for food and beverages as needed
Supervise and coordinate activities of dining room staff to ensure that patrons receive prompt and courteous service
Assist in planning functions or other special events and services
Coordinate large party reservations in collaboration with the manager. Includes inquiry follow up, sending required information to guest, deposit information and confirming reservations
Oversee the proper stock of menus and reprint prior to service as needed
Participate in scheduled departmental and administrative meetings as requested
Adhere to all standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos and verbal instructions
Be familiar with all safety and emergency procedures including OSHA requirements Knowledge,
Requirements and Skills
High-School diploma or GED preferred
Experience in high volume dining preferred
Physical stamina, proper mental attitude and the ability to deal effectively with guests, management, employees and outside contacts in a fast-paced environment
Attention to detail and the required organizational and time management skills needed to work under pressure, ensure efficiency and meet deadlines
Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays
Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English Language
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to multitask
Excellent communication skills
Able to handle a large volume of guest interactions in an efficient and courteous manner;
Work well under pressure, requires being a team player
Working Conditions/Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
The person having this responsibility may have to lift up to 30lbs on a daily basis
The person having this position may have to sit for one (1) hour, stand and/or walk, push, kneel, bend, balance, squat, reach and stretch for eight (8) hours per day
