Job Description
We are looking for a dependable, hardworking technician to join our team. This role includes helping with water damage cleanups, mold remediation projects, and carpet/upholstery cleaning. We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, a good attitude, and expertise in specialized cleaning or repairs.
Qualifications
Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
Successfully pass a national criminal background check and motor vehicle report background check.
High School Diploma/GED
2-4 years of Construction experience, working on water damage jobs specifically, environmental experience and hazardous waste
Experience using Xactimate software (required)
OSHA 40 hour
IICRC Restoration Certifications are preferred, but not required
Must be eligible to work in the United States
A strong work ethic and ability to follow directions
Must follow all local, OSHA, and EPA regulations for handling hazardous materials.
Must be in good physical health and be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA (HAZWOPER)
Must be able to wear full and half face respirator, work in confined spaces and regularly lift and carry 75 pounds
Ability to maintain a tidy workspace; you understand that “restoration” means leaving a site better than you found it
Other qualifications and responsibilities might arise as deemed necessary by circumstances
Responsibilities
Perform content restoration work residential and commercial properties
Perform physical labor associated with cleanup activities, packing customers’ contents, general on-location cleaning, HVAC cleaning and deodorization of facilities
Assists with the inventory of site contents, setup of services equipment, preparing contents for storage and lifting items into storage
Follow applicable safety rules, regulations, guidelines, policies and site specific safety plans when performing cleanup activities and donning protective gear
Operate routinely used tools and equipment
Perform work at high elevations such as from a ladder and scaffolding
Assist with cleanup and drying after water damage.
Help set up equipment, remove damaged materials, and keep work areas clean.
Support mold remediation projects by helping with preparation, cleaning, and basic demolition when needed.
Hazardous Waste Operations
Be friendly, professional, and courteous with customers.
Explain the work being done in a simple, clear way
Represent our company with a positive attitude.
All other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management
Skills
Comfortable using moisture meters, thermal imaging cameras, and HEPA filtration systems
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals
Ability to document notes, estimates and invoices electronically, using a tablet.
Ability to communicate effectively with customers in regards to work being done when onsite.
Working Environment
Working around equipment and machinery, the work environment is usually dirty, dusty and noisy, on uneven ground/surfaces containing hazardous or potentially hazardous substances and/or materials and is subject to inclement or extreme weather conditions and temperatures. Work includes handling hazardous materials and use of personal protective equipment. Frequent travel is required for this position.
