Restoration Technician (Field Lead–Level)
Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated Restoration Technician to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who can operate independently in the field, take ownership of projects, and make sound decisions without constant supervision.
You will be working directly in customers’ homes and businesses following water damage, mold issues, and other property losses. This is a hands-on role that requires technical skill, adaptability, and pride in doing things the right way. While training and support are provided, this is not an entry-level or helper position we are looking for someone who can step in, assess a situation, and get the job done.
What You’ll Do
Independently perform water damage restoration and mold remediation work from start to finish
Execute demolition and rebuild tasks including drywall removal and replacement, trim/molding, painting, and minor repairs
Install and monitor equipment such as air movers, dehumidifiers, and air scrubber
Evaluate job sites and adjust the work plan as conditions change
Maintain clean, organized job sites and a well-stocked, professional work vehicle
Communicate clearly with customers and team members about progress and next steps
Assist with other services as needed, such as carpet cleaning, insulation, or specialty projects
Follow work orders, safety procedures, and company standards while working independently or as part of a small crew
What We’re Looking For
Proven hands-on experience in restoration, construction, or a skilled trade
Comfortable working alone in the field and taking the lead when required
Strong practical problem-solving skills and the ability to think on your feet
Solid working knowledge of:
Drywall removal and installation
Basic carpentry and trim work
Painting and finishing
Plumbing basics (including sump pump installation)
Flexible and willing to take on a variety of tasks beyond a single specialty
Professional, dependable, and detail-oriented
Takes pride in quality workmanship and customer satisfaction
Qualifications
IICRC certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
Previous restoration or relevant construction experience required
High school diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
Ability to meet physical demands of the job, including lifting, climbing ladders, confined spaces, and working at heights
Willingness to travel locally and occasionally out of state
Why This Role Is Different
This position is for someone who wants responsibility, autonomy, and variety in their work. If you’re used to being “the go-to person” on a job site — the one who figures things out and makes it happen — you’ll fit right in.
