Position Overview
The IT & Systems Support Specialist plays a key role in keeping the store’s technology running smoothly. This includes maintaining and upgrading point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory and pricing software, networking equipment, and all technology used by staff. This position is well-suited for someone with a computer science background who enjoys hands-on technical work in a fast-paced retail setting.
Primary Duties
Provide day-to-day support for POS terminals, printers, scanners, and other in-store equipment
Diagnose and resolve software, hardware, and network issues to reduce interruptions
Manage and update inventory and pricing databases and assist with system changes
Monitor network health and follow basic cybersecurity protocols
Work with store leadership to enhance digital processes and improve efficiency
Set up and configure new hardware and software as needed
Keep clear documentation of technical processes and maintain accurate system records
Required Qualifications
Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
Proficiency in hardware troubleshooting and foundational networking
Experience with retail technologies such as POS or inventory systems is beneficial
Strong communication abilities and a customer-focused approach
Capable of working independently and handling rapid-pace environments
Understanding of basic database concepts and operating systems (Windows/Linux)
