    Sales Representative:

    Background:

    Retail Information Systems, a leader in the retail technology market, is seeking a sales representative to find and develop new business opportunities. The primary responsibilities of this role will be to hunt for new opportunities through face to face visits, phone calls, emails, mailings, and online digital avenues. The sales representative will develop a comprehensive understanding of the RIS target market and complementing technologies to engage in meaningful conversation with retailers to develop interest in our product suite. The new sales representative will have pre-sales support in demonstrating products, generating price proposals, and closing new opportunities. Once established in core competencies related to our products and sales process, the new sales representative will be assigned existing accounts to manage while continuing to cultivate new business opportunities. This position requires excellent verbal and written communication skills and basic knowledge in retail and retail technology solutions. Pay range may vary pending candidate experience, 40K Base Salary + Commission.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work independently to identify, engage, and develop interest with new prospective retailers.

    • Conduct calls and face to face meetings with prospective and existing clients daily.

    • Build and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients.

    • Light travel to targeted geographic areas for face to face cold calls, meetings, and research.

    • Educate prospects on how our products and services can benefit them financially and professionally.

    • Monitor the company’s industry competitors, new products, and market conditions to understand a customer’s specific needs.

    • Professional persistence and excellent phone demeanor with the expectation of 50+ calls per day.

    • Gain adequate levels of understanding on our core product offerings that enables deep enough engagement with interested parties to qualify them on basic requirements.

    • Ability to use MS Office products and learn our Microsoft CRM solution.

    • Experience in sales or retail is a plus.

    • Excellent organizational skills and professional persistence in follow up activities

    • Well developed phone presence, friendly disposition, and high comfort level initiating conversations

    • Sell starter willing to work independently yet team focused

    • Commitment to hunt daily for new business prospects, and cultivate leads into qualified prospects

    • Retail background and/or knowledge is preferred with an understanding of retail automation solutions.

    Education:

    Proven experience will be weighed as important as formal education. Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing , Economics, Business, or Communications or equivalent education that demonstrates expertise in customer engagement is preferred.
