The Role

Retail Sales Representatives are responsible for coordinating the activities of produce sales while also addressing customer needs and ensuring satisfaction. This role requires a driven, results-oriented professional with a proven track record in prospecting, selling, and managing customer accounts. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, competitive environment and demonstrates both strategic thinking and tactical execution.

Responsibilities:

• Business Development & Prospecting: Manage the full sales cycle from initial outreach to finalizing agreements and onboarding customers
• Sales Execution : Overcome objections and influence decision-makers to switch vendors or expand product offerings.
• Account Management : Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts. Monitor sales performance and profitability for assigned accounts and take corrective action as needed.
• Interdepartmental Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including buyers, operations, and transportation to ensure customer satisfaction and timely service.
• Market Awareness & Reporting: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitive activity, and pricing strategies.

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in retail, wholesale, or foodservice sales, preferably within the produce industry.
• Possess thorough knowledge of produce commodities.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully prospect and close new business.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Excellent phone etiquette.
• Self-motivated, resilient, and capable of managing competing priorities.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
