Position Summary
The Retirement Plan Specialist supports the setup and administration of employer-sponsored 401(k) plans, including assisting with recordkeeper transfers. This role provides responsive service to employers and participants, helping resolve issues and answer questions related to plan operations, eligibility, contributions, and compliance. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Assist with onboarding new 401(k) plans, including gathering initial documentation and coordinating setup tasks.
- Support the distribution of participant notices and employer communications during implementation.
- Provide responsive customer service to employers and participants regarding plan operations, including eligibility, contributions, and general inquiries.
- Facilitate 401(k) recordkeeper transfers by coordinating with clients, recordkeepers, and internal teams to ensure accurate and timely execution.
- Assist customers and plan participants with questions and concerns related to recordkeeper transitions, providing clear guidance and issue resolution.
- Monitor contribution submissions and assist with updates to contribution rates and eligibility tracking.
- Collaborate with sales and senior leadership to ensure timely and accurate plan administration.
- Help coordinate employer training sessions and provide guidance on plan processes, deadlines, and transfer-related procedures.
- Assist with preparation and review of compliance documentation, including nondiscrimination testing and Form 5500 support.
- Identify and escalate operational issues or compliance concerns to senior team members for resolution.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain and update CRM data to ensure client information, interactions, and service activities are accurately recorded.
- Participate in team meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development.
- Support internal projects and initiatives as assigned by management.
- Collaborate closely with team to ensure tasks and responsibilities are completed accurately and on time for assigned book of business.
- Complete projects as assigned by supervisor.

Education & Experience
- Customer service and relationship management experience is required
- 401(k) administration experience preferred, but not required
Required Licenses and/or Certifications
- Credential such as ASPPA or NIPA preferred; or willingness to earn one within 12 months
