    POSITION

    We are looking for a full time Mechanical (HVAC/Plumbing) Designer/Engineer Associate to join our growing architectural team in our Baraboo, WI office.  Our architectural and engineering team works on a wide variety of projects from libraries, fire stations, municipal buildings, park and aquatic facilities to multi-family housing, mixed used and commercial development, as well as wastewater and water treatment facilities. This position will provide HVAC and plumbing support for our architecture and engineering teams and provides a great opportunity to be mentored by our senior architects and engineers.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Design of HVAC and plumbing systems including calculations, layouts, sizing, equipment selections, specification, and coordination.  Fire protection scope of work design specification and layout.
    • Drawing development using AutoCAD and Revit.
    • Perform code reviews.
    • Shop drawing and submittal review and processing.
    • Quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
    • Perform site visits for construction and evaluation of existing building mechanical systems.
    • General office duties.

    Required Skills Required Experience

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technologies or applicable technical degree with a specialization in HVAC and plumbing required.
    • Minimum of a 2.5 GPA required.
    • Previous internship experience preferred.
    • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD preferred.
    • Experience with HVAC design software preferred.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office applications preferred.
    • Knowledge of plumbing and HVAC codes preferred.
    • Personal inclination to learn and grow via internal training, external training and senior staff mentorship.
    • Superb written, verbal, and visual communication skills with colleagues and clients at all levels.
    • Effective interpersonal communications skills, a team oriented disposition and work style, where cooperative work sharing and peer-to-peer mentoring is a daily habit.
    • Excellent planning and organizational skills required for fast-paced and multi-tasking environment with the ability to coordinate this information across disciplines.
    • Demonstrate technical focus.
