ABOUT THE JOB

The Furniture/Product Designer will work to facilitate the design process with our Design Director and team. This position will focus on furniture and decorative accessories. In addition, the designer will use their design and software skills to develop and complete drawings for our factories. We are looking for talented individuals ready to work with artisans from around the globe to hone their design and manufacturing skills. This position is based in our design office located in the Dallas Market Center.

The salary range starts at 60K and will increase based on level of experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES

· Create detailed and unique designs:

· Demonstrating an understanding of the execution of designs through detailed drawings and design sheets

· Participating in various design projects from concept to completion.

· Listening to feedback to improve skills and design to better fit into the evolving brand

· Continuously keeping an eye on competitors and industry trends

· Effective project management and communications:

• • Managing the design process through its entire lifecycle, from concept and ideation stages, through design sketch reviews, development drawings, vendor approvals, sample reviews, and final assortment selection

· Clarifying expectations and completion deadlines

· Following through on commitments and keeping others apprised appropriately

· Maintaining clear and immediate communication to address concerns

· Working effectively with peers and across relevant departments, ensuring mutual understanding of the task purpose and the impact

REQUIREMENTS

· Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferably Furniture Design, Industrial Design, Interior Design or Decorative Arts

· Ability to draft

· Computer Skills – Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, Powerpoint; Photoshop, AutoCAD, Keyshot, Rhino or equivalent rendering software

· Initiative and ability to work independently, while also thriving in a setting requiring collaboration and teamwork

· Technical knowledge of furniture, lighting, wall décor and decorative accessories

· Excellent interpersonal skills, as well as verbal and written communication skills

· Strong analytical abilities and organizational skills

· Demonstrated attention to detail and follow-through
