We are a mission-driven nonprofit dedicated to serving the Baltimore community. With a growing team and expanding programs, we are seeking a Revenue Accountant to support our corporate accounting function and ensure accuracy across all revenue-related financial operations. This role offers the opportunity to join a collaborative corporate accounting team and be mentored directly by our Controller, a CPA with a background at CohnReznick.
This is a hybrid position, requiring in-office presence 4 days a week.
Responsibilities
- Support and help lead components of the month-end close process, with a focus on revenue recognition
- Prepare and review revenue schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documentation across multiple revenue streams
- Maintain and update the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness of revenue entries
- Ensure revenue is recognized in accordance with GAAP and applicable nonprofit accounting standards
- Perform multi-entity accounting tasks, including intercompany revenue reconciliations
- Prepare journal entries related to deferred revenue, grants, contributions, and program income
- Assist with financial reporting and audit preparation, including revenue-related schedules and disclosures
- Collaborate with internal teams — including development, programs, and finance — to ensure timely and accurate revenue processing
- Maintain organized, audit-ready records and documentation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field
- Experience assisting or leading the month-end close process (required)
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit revenue recognition practices
- Familiarity with grant accounting, deferred revenue, and contribution tracking a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across teams
- Experience with intercompany and multi-entity accounting (preferred, not required)
