    Job Description

    The Engineering Manager, Marketing Technology leads the team responsible for the systems and tools that support Reverb’s marketing team, including retention marketing (email and push, promotion codes), performance marketing, personalization, and on site landing page optimization. As leader of this team, you’ll shape our technical foundation through thoughtful, pragmatic improvements to our technology, process, and team.

    This is a full-time role that is open to remote hires within multiple states as well as candidates local to Chicago, IL. For candidates who will work remotely visit thislink for a list of approved locations.

    Responsibilities

    • Mentor, coach, and grow your team, with a focus on fostering collaboration and creating learning opportunities for your team members.

    • Build a comprehensive understanding of the technical domain in order to effectively shape the vision and technical strategy for your domain.

    • Partner closely with marketing leaders to shape and drive business goals for buyer and seller acquisition and retention.

    • Break down barriers for your team and create alignment to ensure successful execution of key marketing initiatives.

    • Foster ongoing partnership with key vendors.

    • Hands-on coding may not be a major part of your job, but you’ll build empathy and insights by making occasional technical contributions.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Experience leading (preferably managing) engineering teams that own multiple work streams 

    • A track record of successfully navigating impactful initiatives with complexity across internally owned systems and 3rd party integrations

    • Experience with essential e-commerce marketing capabilities and the technical solutions to common challenges in this domain. Examples include email marketing, audience segmentation, and CRM; Google Product Listing Ads; event data pipelines; and marketing attribution models.

    • A history of collaborating with engineering leaders and cross-functional partners to achieve shared goals

    • Enthusiasm for music gear, online marketplaces, e-commerce, email marketing, online advertising, and/or event driven systems.
