Job Summary
Are you a recent graduate or early-career professional with a strong foundation in Revit looking to kickstart your career in structural engineering? Frontenac Engineering Group is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Entry-Level Structural Revit Technician to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in assisting our structural engineers by developing building information models (BIM) and producing high-quality construction documentation for a wide variety of exciting projects. Your primary software tools will include Revit, AutoCAD, and Recap.
Responsibilities
Collaborate closely with structural engineers to create, modify, and manage structural Revit models for diverse building types and market sectors.
Prepare comprehensive structural construction documents, including plans, elevations, sections, details, schedules, and specifications, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project standards.
Translate markups and hand sketches provided by structural engineers into precise Revit models and CAD drawings.
Utilize existing structural plans to accurately model additions and renovations within Revit for ongoing projects.
Contribute to the ongoing development and updating of our structural detail library and internal drafting standards.
Develop a strong understanding of structural detailing principles, plan reading, and industry-standard nomenclature.
Effectively manage multiple drafting assignments concurrently, prioritizing tasks to meet project deadlines.
Communicate proactively and clearly with project teams to ensure alignment and address any questions or issues.
(Optional, if applicable and frequent for entry-level) Conduct occasional site visits to gather existing conditions information and field measurements necessary for accurate documentation and modeling.
Qualifications
Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Architectural Technology, Drafting, or a related field. A combination of relevant education and practical experience will also be considered.
Proficiency in Autodesk Revit is required.
Familiarity with AutoCAD.
A foundational understanding of basic structural principles, structural plans, and construction terminology is a strong asset.
Ability to read and interpret construction documents.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to balance multiple tasks.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Eagerness to learn and adapt to new software and design challenges.
