  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    Local process measurement instruments manufacturer needs a Manufacturing Engineer to coordinate activities including systems fabrication and mechanical assembly. Will provide engineering support to improve product quality and reduce production costs. This job is in a nearby New Jersey suburb.

    • Conducts studies to maximize work flow and process utilization

    • Develop BOM costs for new products. Maintain accurate BOM for all products.

    • Design fixtures for new and existing products

    • Design, install and start-up of new equipment and processes

    • Participates in product launches

    • Develops work instructions

    • Designs assembly fixtures and manufacturing equipment

    • Work on plant layout and process improvement projects

    • Reviews production reports and solves manufacturing and maintenance problems, reducing costs and preventing shipping delays

    • Develops safe work practices. Seek opportunities for improvements in product and process quality.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, other Bachelor of Engineering, or four-year degree in a similar field.
    • Five years’ experience working in manufacturing, and specifically in the manufacturing of electromechanical devices.
    • Some experience or knowledge about automation, PLC's, in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
    • Experience with welding, brazing, soldering.
    • Experience or knowledge about lean manufacturing, line balancing, process flow.
