    RY+A is a leading Architectural & Urban Planning firm servicing the greater So. Calif. area for the past 37 yrs.

    We seek an energetic, self-motivated individual to expand our practice to support projects in the greater Los Angeles / Irwindale area.

    The ideal candidate must be a licensed Architect or Architectural Project Manager with a minimum of eight years of experience in Architecture and a minimum of one year of construction administration experience. Good verbal communication and written skills and knowledge of construction, code interpretation and architectural detailing is mandatory.

    KEY FOCUS AREAS

    TECHNICAL PROJECT ARCHITECT

    • Provide technical support leadership preparing Design Develop and Construction Documentation
    • Provide constructability guidance and mentoring.
    • Working knowledge of Building & Zoning Codes

    CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION

    • Serve as a reliable and competent liaison between Architect/Engineer team(s) and owner/Construction Manager
    • Serve as the key point person with field staff on all design-related issues.
    • The CA will be responsible for, and take ownership of, the quality and timely completion of assigned projects

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide design and construction coordination on design and/or building projects.
    • Conduct regular design reviews, updates, coordination, value engineering, constructability, shop drawing revisions, ASI's, RFI’s and change orders.
    • Manage A/E schedule and milestone dates and keeps project manager/project leader apprised of progress and escalate issues appropriately.
    • Travel to project or design office as required to facilitate construction. Visit job site as required to review progress and facilitate construction by coordinating RFI’s, ASI’s and other information requests, payment applications and contractor requests.
    • Coordinate with field Project Manager regarding drawing progress, reports, RFI’s, ASI’s, owner concerns, schedule, and concerns of field team.
    • Establish work requirements according to established schedules for design and construction.
    • Provide an up-to-date filing system and logging/tracking of all work issues.
    • Review project costing of design budget and coordinate with Project Manager.
    • During design process, review drawings, as a QA/QC check, for coordination or review of specifications.
    • Implement policies and procedures and provide assistance as required.
    • Perform additional assignments per supervisor’s direction.
