Riddell is seeking a Research and Development Engineering Intern with a passion for football and product development. As an R&D Intern, you will support Riddell Product Engineers in evaluating and developing world class protective products. We are looking for a detail-oriented, fast learner who is eager to help wherever needed. Position is located on-site at our Des Plaines, IL location May-August.

As an R&D Intern, you will…

• Perform Engineering Sample Evaluations on new and revised products to be sure that they meet print specifications

• Assemble and prepare helmet samples for lab testing

• Assist in the creation of rapid prototypes using in-house resources such as 3D printing

• Assist with various lab tests such as tensile/compression testing

• Prepare and modify 2D drawings from existing 3D part and assembly models

• Manipulate and modify existing 3D models with general verbal direction

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in an engineering or science field   

• Familiarity with SolidWorks, PTC Creo, or equivalent 2D/3D parametric modeling software

• Familiarity with FDM 3D printing

• Experience with shop tools such as drill press, band saw, etc.

• Experience with performing testing using standard lab equipment following established testing protocols

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong organizational skills and acute attention to detail
