Main purpose of job: The purpose of this position is to introduce basic swimming skills to young swimmers in a fun and engaging way during group and private lessons.

Duties include but are not limited to:

Greeting parents and children before the start of each lesson

Have strong group management skills to keep children excited and engaged in the lesson

Teach proper safety rules to swimmers

Teach basic swimming skills like blowing bubbles, floating with and without assitance, beginner strokes, refining stroke technique etc.

Comfort and encourage young children who are fearful or scared of getting in the water

Sing songs and play games in the water

Be willing to work with varying ages of children.

Role

We want our swim instructors to be positive individuals who build rapport with our swim parents and children. As a swim instructor you will be expected to have strong teaching abilities. You will also need to encourage young swimmers to feel comfortable and excited about swimming and learning new skills.

Weekly Hours: Varies. We are looking for a swim instructor with morning availability during the week, after school availability, and weekend availability. Our group lessons run from 3:30-5:00 pm on Monday and Wednesday. More hours can be obtained by teaching private lessons and working swim programs designed for school groups during the year, as well as filling in when needed as a substitute for other instructors.

Pay Rate: DOE
