    TITLE:                  Part-Time Human Resources Generalist

    LOCATION:           Grimes, IA

    Known for our “one stop” shopping, Anime and Manga enthusiasts and collectors will find over 20,000 products including those licensed and published by our very own Nozomi Entertainment.  We are also known for going above and beyond to handle each customer’s package with extreme care and are often showered with accolades on our Social Media platforms.

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    Assist in human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, employee relations, benefits, training, and teambuilding.

    ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Work with managers to recruit employees, both internal and temporary, to fill vacant positions; primary liaison with staffing agencies 

    • Maintenance of all personnel records

    • Create and maintain records of benefits plan participation; company liaison with insurance broker; monthly benefit reconciliations

    • Assist in unemployment related items

    • Assist in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues

    • Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs 

    • Identify legal requirements and reporting regulations affecting local human resources functions ensuring state and federal compliance; and ensure that such policies and procedures are effectively communicated to the workforce, where applicable

    • Assist with benefit programs such as medical, dental, vision, life, FSA and voluntary insurance plans; 401(k) plan; and employee assistance program. 

    • Administer workers’ compensation program, including the preparation and submission of claims (may also aid in accident investigation, as needed). 

    • Administer attendance policies, personal time off (PTO) and leaves of absence (including FMLA and disability leave).

    • Work effectively with vendors, management and fellow employees

    • Maintain confidentiality and uphold strong ethical standards

    • Special projects or duties as assigned

    • Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws

     

    NOTE:  All team members are asked to assist in the warehouse occasionally regardless of their role.

    QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:

    • Associates degree in Human Resources

    • Intern level or more experience in Human Resources or related field

    • Manufacturing/Warehousing experience

    • Knowledge of Paylocity a definite plus!

    • Strong organizational skills and decision making

    • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills

    • Results oriented

    • Ability to take effective action

    • Adaptability to changes in the business environment

    • Team-oriented attitude
