    Right at Home Seattle and the Eastside, a Joint Commission Accredited Puget Sound private duty home health and home care agency, is seeking a full-time Director of Nursing Services to work out of our Seattle Office.

    The Director of Nursing Services is responsible for the clinical oversight and operations of Right at Home’s in-home care programs and personnel.

    These programs include:

    IVIG/Infusion

    Vent and Trach Care

    Wound Care

    Bowel and Bladder Programs

    Nurse Delegation

    Personal Care/Companion Care

    The successful candidate will promote and ensure agency’s services comply with quality standards, policies and procedures, and are in accordance to Washington State licensing laws and regulations.

    The Director of Nursing Services monitors the performance of all skilled care providers, supervises nursing team, and works in partnership with Agency Administrator to ensure all care providers (both clinical and non-skilled) are supported.

    Working with skilled nursing and home care teams, the Director of Nursing Services ensures all care plans are for Right at Home’s skilled nursing and nurse delegated clients are up-to-date and that all staff are clearly instructed on how to provide care to their clients and support their families. This includes reviewing nursing notes, providing clinical support for all incident reports, acting upon changes in condition that require skilled nursing judgement, and making sure appropriate staff members are aware of any changes that need to be addressed.

    Right at Home is a well-established and growing family-run agency that has been assisting King, Snohomish and Pierce County families with in-home care services since 2004.     The successful candidate for this position is a Registered Nurse with leadership experience, preferably in an in-home care setting. Skills needed include strong interpersonal skills, solid hands on experience in managing and training staff, and the ability to adapt to ever changing priorities in a fast paced, collegiate environment.     Director of Nursing Services Responsibilities

    Provide leadership and clinical oversight to ensure agency’s programs deliver on agency’s commitment to delivering the highest quality services based on data-based decision making that adheres to superior customer service, client satisfaction and a steadfast commitment to high levels of staff training and support. This includes oversight of agency’s QAPI Program.

    Coordinates and participates in implementation and review of written client care policies for all agency tasks, and that care staff is vetted and credentialed to provide licensed services including: IVIG/Infusion; Vent and Trach Care, Wound Care, Bowel and Bladder Programs, and Nurse Delegation.

    Ensures performance of annual nursing reviews and provides coaching to staff who provide care for all skilled clients.

    Ensures Home Health services are compliant with agency philosophy, policies and procedures, and in accordance with State licensing laws and regulations.

    Build relationships with referral partners that will enable us to increase our skilled nursing business. Relationship development focused on Insurance Case Managers, VA Case Managers, Hospital Case Managers, Clinicians, and Infusion Pharmacies.

    Works closely with office staff to promote inter-agency and intra-agency communication to assure appropriate client care.

    Assumes Nurse Delegation responsibilities when a Nurse Delegator is unavailable as per Washington State Administrative Standards.

    Assumes responsibilities of the Administrator when absent.

    Provides on-call services after hours and weekends as needed or directed by Administrator.

    Other Duties includes:

    Participate in the referral and intake process for clients needing clinical and non-clinical services.

    Participate in Right at Home’s On-Call Program which involves assisting with after-hour inquiries, resolving care staff/client issues, and providing staff introductions as needed.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    Manages Nursing Department which includes Infusion Nurse Coordinator, Nursing Scheduler, Nursing Care Coordinator, and clinical field staff.

    Supervises with Administrator clinical components of non-skilled care team which includes nurse delegation.

    Director of Nursing Services Qualifications

    Washington State Licensed Registered Nurse with either a bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Nursing from an Accredited US nursing school program.

    Minimum of 3 years of related healthcare experience with a preference of at least 2 years of experience in home health, hospice, or home-based rehabilitation services.

    Ability to perform client assessment including medical history, physical health, mental health, and cognitive screening

    Knowledgeable in Excel, Access, Power Point and Word and able to understand and use other computer software systems and ability to type 35-45 words pe minute.

    Experience or understanding of the regulatory components of home health care licensure.

    Solid hands-on experience in managing and training staff

    Experience in marketing, sales and the customer services components of the healthcare industry

    Proven ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines

    Demonstrate self-direction, organizational skills, flexibility and the ability to deal with a high level of stress, and constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.

    Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills with diverse audiences.

    Driver’s License and an insured automobile and able to drive when needed throughout King, Snohomish, and Pierce Counties.
