Description
Rigil is recruiting for a Data Architect/Developer to provide the data architecture, data modeling, data management and web services development to push and pull the data to/from other sources. The individual will also manage services standards for reference data and capabilities required to describe, organize, integrate, share and govern data and information as an enterprise asset in an application-independent manner.
Duties and responsibilities
Develops and manages enterprise data architecture; enterprise data modeling of conceptual, logical, physicaland canonical models
Responsible for working with business, process teams, and leaders, to understand their business information requirements and to classify, organize, make available and govern the data needed to meet those requirements.
Develops exchange data flows, functional documentation, logical and data models and XML validation schemas (XSD).
Ensures customers, end users, developers, and other stakeholders have a common understanding of exchange standards and models.
Works with project teams to develop and document information requirements and business rules in the form of conceptual, logical, physical, and canonical data models, data flow diagrams.
Formulates the data architecture to meet business information requirements and support the business rules.
Utilizes knowledge of data sources, data flow, and system interactions of existing automated systems.
Provides technical assistance to users and team members on the various international, industry, United States Government, and National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) data exchange standard(s).
Analyze data requirements through life cycle and value chain analysis and ensure enterprise integration
Determine and manage Reference data (code lists and enumerations)
Determine and manage authoritative and approved replicated sources of all types of data
Manage metadata and data registries
Provide data quality specifications, analysis, measurement, and improvement recommendations
Ensures technical compliance and alignment with standards.
Develop web services using JSON and other latest technologies.
Ensures customers, end users, developers, and other stakeholders have a common understanding of data architecture models
Keeps management and team members apprised of project status through written reports, formal briefings, and discussions.
Applies knowledge of business objectives, overall design and operation principles of enterprise systems.
Applies knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
Required skills
A qualified candidate will possess the following:
Ability to understand core business and corporate strategy
Skill in building component based XML or JSON structures to support a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA).
Knowledge of UML modeling standards, XML transformation, XML validation schemas (XSD), and validation tools such as (but not limited to) XSLT and Schematron.
Experience with information architecture concepts (Common Information Model/Canonical Data Model, Enterprise Information Management, Metadata Management, Data Governance, and Master Data Management).
Experience with data modeling, data mapping, data profiling, and data quality
Ability to design and develop solutions with incremental steps toward long-term strategy/vision
Ability to communicate, written and verbally, technical concepts in business terms
Ability to identify opportunities for efficiency and areas of potential conflict
Ability to consolidate themes in order to maximize resources
Ability to build consensus and influence stakeholders to obtain buy-in
Proficiency in enterprise data management as well as experience of relational and object-oriented database technology; SQL, MS SQL Server, Oracle, MongoDB, NoSQL databasesa plus.
Understanding of current approaches to data modeling (entity relationship, UML), knowledge warehousing, data mart
Ability to utilize enterprise architecture concepts to evaluate and develop data standards and related processes, especially expertise in XML, JSON.
Education requirements
BS in Computer Science or similar technical field
Required experience
A qualified candidate will have a minimum of five years of experience in the following areas:
Web services development
Knowledge and Experience with Enterprise Architecture Frameworks
Proficiency using enterprise architecture and data management tools (System
Architect, Enterprise Architect, Virtualization).
Federal Business knowledge a plus
AIXM and/or aeronautical background a plus
Denodo, Tableau, System Architect and Enterprise Architect tool knowledge a plus
