    Job Description: The Airspace District Project Coordinator will be a trusted third-party agent (i.e., highly qualified contractor) who provides expertise in cross-programmatic planning and coordination of implementation activities as well as operational activities throughout the District. This position will work closely with and enhance the current project support entities within Planning and Requirements Groups (PRG), Engineering Services (ES), Technical Services (TS), System Support Centers (SSCs) and the Districts. The position will use the FAA project management system and tools (e.g., Corporate Work Plan [CWP]) to identify, coordinate and track implementation activities at the district level. The position requires strong analytical and critical thinking capabilities with demonstrated ability to compile, assess and analyze large volumes of data from multiple sources (including operational data, project data, and administrative data sources, etc.) to identify key coordination and integration requirements.

    Core Function Details:

    1. Serve as FAA/Airspace District point of contact on project implementation and coordination related issues:

    •Serve as the primary FAA point of contact for the District, SSCs, TSOGs, PRG, AT Management and ES on project related issues

    • Assist with project coordination and communication efforts

    • Serve as liaison for District with the local airport authorities and FAA Airport District Offices (ADOs)

    • Participate in high-visibility or key FAA Stakeholder meetings in support of the District

    • Help all stakeholders speak with ‘One FAA Voice’

    • Provide an operational overview to all Stakeholders on all District implementation activities.

    1. Facilitate/Coordinate operational and project implementation efforts at the District Level to maximize efficiency and resource utilization

    • Maintain an integrated/coordinated FAA Airspace District

    • Project plan including program/project implementation activities, operational activities, airport activities and plans, etc.

    • Coordinate project milestones, constraints, solutions, status of active and future high-visibility projects at the District level

    • Compile, assess and analyze large data sets from various sources to identify coordination requirements, impacts, solutions and recommendations

    • Participate in or lead efforts to align FAA resources at the District Level to

    • maximize efficiencies

    1. Minimize project implementation impacts on NAS operations

    • Improve coordination and information sharing among all FAA stakeholders including, but not limited to, PRG (PMI, PIMs, Planners, Requirements, Resource Planners, EOSH) ES (Lead Engineers, PIPOCs), TSOG (NPMs/NIM’s, Ops Engineers), and SSCM/SSC Coordinators

    • Anticipate and plan for contingencies for project issues during design, construction and implementation that may adversely affect NAS operations.

    • Actively explore District initiated ideas and suggestions that improve NAS and Airspace safety and efficiency

    • Support development of Operational Risk Management (ORM) documentation and plans

    1. Strengthen relationship of all FAA participants and stakeholders within the Airspace Districts

    • Ensure effective communication among stakeholders

    • Establish a trustworthy relationship with district personnel and stakeholders

    • Solicit customer feedback for improvements

    • Participate in FAA stakeholder functions/meetings such as: quarterly, weekly, monthly, key stakeholder, key projects

    Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in a discipline that specializes in project coordination and oversight activities related to new construction or installation, restoration, service life extension, demolition/removal, and refurbishment of facilities. For example: Project Management, Engineering, Building and Construction Management or Strategic Management.

    Minimum 10 years’ experience working on non- FAA projects that are related to new construction or installation, restoration, service life extension, demolition/removal, and refurbishment in other than FAA Facilities.

    The Coordinator will be a NAS Program and Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) and will serve as the joint liaison between the District Office/SSC (ATS and AJW), Engineering Services, PRG, Headquarters program offices, local Airport District Office personnel, and local commercial airport entities. Direct FAA experience is a plus.
