Minimum qualifications:
Sr. BigFix Engineer is responsible for the integration and hands-on implementation of new capabilities and managing existing capabilities for federal agencies in support of the CDM DEFEND E project and customer requirements. Sr. BigFix Engineer will work closely with architects, design engineers, and integrators to assess customer requirements and deploy and extend capabilities offered by the COTS and custom tools, and support dashboard data requirements. Additionally, you will serve as a trusted advisor, providing subject matter expertise, guidance, and applying best practices.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design, integrate, deploy, operate and maintain CDM tools and capabilities in enterprise on-premise and Cloud environments
Develop installation, configuration, and deployment methods including advanced scripting and use of APIs, orchestration, automation, and database services to support the integration and configuration of asset management applications and security technologies
Work with architects, integration engineers, and developers to design solutions and improve data quality, security, and compliance or extend current capabilities and offerings to customers
Assess system designs to validate them against expected technical parameters in support of the CDM data model
Identify, analyze, define, and coordinate user, customer, and stakeholder needs and translates them into hardware and software requirements
Identify and manage solution dependencies with other systems and elements of the enterprise IT infrastructure
Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies
Perform data validation, analysis, warehousing, and data mining to improve Data Consistency and address gaps
Develop and maintain detailed installation documentation and SOPs as required
Create technical documentation, diagrams, guides, schedules, and other deliverables to support internal and external customers
Provide tool operations and maintenance support, Tier 3 customer support as the subject matter expert
Provide mentoring and support to other engineers Position Requirements:
Bachelors Degree in MIS, Computer Science or related field or equivalent technical/vocational certification and a combination of experience preferred
13 years’ with a Bachelor’s Degree, 11 years’ with a Master’s Degree
Minimum of 5 years’ experience administering IBM BigFix or similar tools, such as Microsoft SCCM as subject matter expert and hands-on experience with tool deployment, configuration, customization, and endpoint management in a large enterprise setting
Experience implementing and use of IBM BigFix and SCCM native APIs and advanced features like REST, Soap. Web Reports, Dashboard and Server for data integration, advanced reporting, tool query methods including WMI and use of schemas
Experience applying effective tool lifecycle management including developing effective inventory methods and baselines, patch assessment and management, hardware asset discovery, software asset management, configuration settings management, protections, and containerization methods, etc.
Experience establishing security compliance and policy configurations
Effective communications skills, both oral and written
Experience leading technical discussions with internal and external customers
Experience and use of the key technologies relevant to application configuration or integration including SSL, DHCP, Active Directory, LDAP, JDBC, ODBC, PKI, GPOs, PowerShell, SSH, etc.
Understanding and use of Microsoft SQL database, database definition, procedures, and advanced SQL
Ability to troubleshoot broad-ranging issues (operating systems, network, firewall, COTS products, access, and authentication schemes Preferred:
Experience implementing, configuring, and administering enterprise hardware and/or software asset management tools and applying inventory and patch management methods in large enterprise settings • Patch management and analysis across multiple operating systems including Windows, Mac OS, and Unix, including patch analysis and remediation
Experience supporting incident response and handling; scanning for malicious content, automation, aggregation of intelligence data, development of remediation methods
Experience managing endpoints and content delivery in the Cloud
Experience using Virtualization Technologies, such as VMware, vSphere, Xen
Ability to perform ETL operations to retrieve enrichment content from existing hardware, software, system boundary inventories
Knowledge of NIST, RMF, or CDM Framework Clearance
