    Job Description:

    The Business/Financial/Management/Analyst series is focused on coordination, accounting, planning, and administrative functions.

    The management analyst provides business management functions such as budgeting, financial analysis and planning, and control of funding and allocation of funding.

    Functions include business process analysis to describe and create defined business and operations controls and processes.

    Independently perform tasks involving budget execution or formulation by compiling data from various financial management reports.

    Establishes maintains, and updates expenditures relative to funding activities.

    Adjusts a wide variety of funds such as appropriated to reflect the effects of budgetary transactions (e.g., obligations, expenditures, transfers, and reimbursements).

    Gathers, extracts, and compiles data for use in recurring and nonrecurring reports and provides status updates.

    Reviews budgetary transactions for compliance with policies/procedures and ensures that funds are available.

    Continually compares current estimates with ongoing expenditures.

    Performs technical tasks in support of the financial analysis process.

    Conducts informal studies of financial management related to procedures and processes (e.g., the accuracy of purchase requests, permanent change of station moves review, etc.).

    Develops information and recommendations to be used in a variety of reports and briefings.

    Identifies trends/patterns and supports conclusions.

    Recommends modifications and drafts revisions to local guidelines such as those on budget estimates, reports, and processing of funding requests.

    Provides quality customer service.

    Minimum qualifications:

    Bachelor’s degree + 8 relevant years

    A 4-year course of study leading to a Bachelor’s degree with a major in any field that includes or was supplemented by at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, economics, industrial management, quantitative methods, or organization and management is required.
