WHAT YOU WILL DO
CRAFT & STEWARD A TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY THAT SUPPORTS RISKGENIUS’S VISION, MISSION, GOALS, AND OBJECTIVES.
- Contribute to & internalize RiskGenius’s vision, mission, goals, and objectives.
- Learn & deeply understand the P&C insurance industry, with an emphasis on customers’ pain points.
- Track competitors to understand where we are technologically ahead/behind and know which advantages matter and don’t.
- Eat, breathe, & live SaaS—always staying on top of the latest developments.
- Steadfast in our approach, but always looking to improve.
BRING OUR TECHNOLOGY STRATEGY TO LIFE THROUGH FAST, UNYIELDING, CREATIVE, AND COLLABORATIVE EXECUTION WHILE APPROPRIATELY PRIORITIZING SPEED, QUALITY, AND COST.
- Put in place a program to ensure consistency, aligned goals & objectives, and an understanding of the team’s direction and needs.
- Clearly & regularly communicate the program to the entire company.
- Collaborate with other areas of RiskGenius to ensure we are building a complete solution.
- Develop & manage RiskGenius’s technology budget.
GROW, MANAGE, LEAD, & MENTOR AN A-GRADE SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT TEAM.
- Build & lead a program to recruit, vet, and hire stellar candidates.
- Guide, course correct, & manage the development team.
- Empower the team to self-organize, execute, and take risks.
- Motivate, develop, & retain employees who are strong performers/culturally additive while quickly reassigning or terminating poor performers/toxic employees.
WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE
- At least five years of experience as a CTO or senior technology executive (VP/SVP) at a Series B or C technology startup.
- Extensive knowledge of the SaaS space, including tools, trends, and best practices.
- An understanding of budgets and business-planning.
- Outstanding communication, interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- An intellectually curious mind with a desire to “dig in” in order to fundamentally understand issues and solve problems.
- An ability to think big picture yet ensure the details are taken care of.
- BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus.
