    Job Description

    Required Travel: Hartford County for Business Development. Additional travel for networking or training will be required on an as needed basis.

    OVERVIEW:

    Build and strengthen financial relationships within the community with the goal of increasing deposit and loan relationships for the Credit Union. Traveling within Hartford County to schools and businesses to create and support mutually beneficial relationships. Attends community events relative to the mission of the Credit Union and joins networking groups such as the Bradley Regional Chamber to create a strong presence with local businesses and community members. This position will report to the VP of HR & Marketing to support all facets of the Credit Union’s marketing department, including digital, event marketing as well as traditional media outlets. Ensures all State and Federal laws and regulations are followed. Responsible for cross-selling additional products and services while interacting with members.


    Essential Functions and Primary Duties:

    Represent the Credit Union in a friendly, professional manner identifying and promoting appropriate Credit Union products and services.

    Responsible for the creation and implementation of the Business Development and Marketing Plans based off the goals and objectives outlined in the organization’s Business Plan.

    Maintain thorough knowledge of both the member services and loan departments & be well versed in the credit union’s product and service offerings. Keeping up with product changes and updates in addition to procedures and regulations relative to new accounts. Have an understanding of the underwriting processes & procedures.

    BDMS will work offsite to build relationships with local businesses and schools with the intent of growing the membership.

    Meet with the VP of HR & Marketing weekly providing updates on pending work projects.

    Mentor, coach and train employees on dealing professionally and effectively with members and when promoting the Credit Union.

    Attend various schools, seminars, conferences and/or workshops as necessary to maintain adequate knowledge of ongoing changes in the financial and marketing industries. Communicate relevant information from training with the VP of HR & Marketing. This training may require travel.

    Assist with copy writing and creating graphics for various ad campaigns and development of marketing materials.

    Manage and grow the Credit Union’s social media accounts and online platforms.

    Development and execute email marketing campaigns.

    Updating content and creating banner ads for the Credit Union’s website.

    Create video content, record and edit short marketing videos to help build awareness.

    Assist with and conduct sales training with the Credit Union staff.

    Responsible for resolving problems and concerns relative to their scope and remains accountable for results and service feedback. Refers problems and concerns to appropriate staff member if unable to handle independently.

    Responsible for maintaining an acceptable attendance record as outlined in policy. Communication is key in this position, if there is any change in hours, expectations or target contacts it must be communicated to the VP of HR & Marketing immediately.

    Weekday regular business hours, some after hours and occasional weekend work may be required.

    Adhere to all aspects of BSA/CIP/OFAC as it effects this position. Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of all state and federal laws and regulations that impact responsibilities outlined in this position.
