Summary of responsibilities The Wealth Advisor delivers ongoing financial planning to a segment of Riverstone's established client base. The role is responsible for deepening client relationships and delivering an exceptional client experience. This includes assisting clients in meeting their financial goals by recommending appropriate planning strategies, preparing for, and conducting client review meetings, answering incoming requests, and conducting investment research. This position also works closely with other staff members to deliver exceptional client service. This position is ideally suited for someone who is passionate about financial planning and wants to make a meaningful impact on clients. Principal responsibilities Manage all aspects of the financial planning process for clients: * Establish and define the client/planner relationship. * Help individuals identify their unique financial needs and objectives. * Gather data, including goals. * Analyze and evaluate financial status. * Develop and present personalized financial planning recommendations and/or alternatives. * Implement and monitor financial planning recommendations. * Analyze the income and asset situation of clients as requested (at least once annually) and update their financial plans accordingly. * Work effectively with clients' other professional advisors such as attorneys and CPAs. * Conduct ongoing client review meetings. Develop and deepen client relationships with the firm's existing clients as assigned * Collaborate with the Riverstone team to respond to client questions and service needs. * Research new products and services that will enhance client relationships or fulfill clients' short- and long-term financial needs. * Generate reports, such as allocation and performance statements, for meetings with clients. * Conduct research on Morningstar® or COMMunity Link®. * Rebalance portfolios and place trades through the Commonwealth trading platform. * Comply with all FINRA, SEC, and Commonwealth regulations; satisfy continuing education requirements. Assist with workflow needs in office: * Maintain updated client contact records using CRM software. * Follow up on outstanding transactions with Commonwealth ( e.g. , transfers). * Maintain up-to-date and organized client files, including copies of all signed applications and forms, according to Commonwealth's compliance requirements. * Prepare and send outgoing mail. * Maintain appropriate turnaround time on incoming items Remain up to date on industry developments, service and product enhancements, regulatory issues, client needs and wants, and so forth. Required knowledge/skills/competencies * Comprehensive knowledge of financial planning and investment concepts * Minimum of five years of experience in the investment/insurance industry; experience working in an advisory role is a strong plus * BA or BS required * FINRA Series 6 or 7 registration, along with 63 and 65, or 66 * Proficiency with computer programs, including the Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), CRM, WealthscapeSM, and Morningstar®, EMoney * A commitment to providing outstanding client service * Exceptional verbal and written communications skills * Ability to establish rapport with clients and coworkers * Sophisticated organizational skills with both physical resources (e.g., files, manuals, papers) and nonphysical resources (e.g., calendars, appointments, events, client contact records, images) * Attention to detail * Ability to: * Proofread and quality check own work in accordance with firm/Commonwealth criteria * Proactively relate internal concerns to management * Identify and solve problems in a timely, efficient, and effective manner * Use resources available to answer questions and resolve problems * Prioritize workload and meet deadlines * Work independently but operate effectively within a smaller & rapidly growing firm
