Description We are seeking a Roadway Design Engineer to support various roadway, highway, intersection, bicycle, and pedestrian infrastructure projects. This role offers an opportunity to build technical experience while actively contributing to project delivery. Responsibilities include developing conceptual layouts, roadway geometrics, drainage designs, construction staging, and erosion/sediment control plans. You will collaborate closely within a team environment to ensure the successful execution of roadway design elements.

This position is with a dynamic and collaborative small business that provides professional services in civil site design, transportation, water resources, land planning, landscape architecture, arborist services, land acquisition, construction management, and surveying for both public and private clients.

Responsibilities

Provide technical design support

Develop conceptual layouts and roadway geometrics

Create drainage designs and erosion/sediment control plans Design construction staging and right-of-way plans

Prepare construction documents and other related design deliverables

Participate effectively in a collaborative, team-based environment

Education and/or Skills Required

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Strong communication and technical writing skills

Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills

Collaborative mindset with problem-solving and critical thinking abilities

Desired Skills

E.I.T. or Professional Engineer License

Experience with Bentley MicroStation OpenRoads or InRoads

Familiarity with AutoCAD and other applicable software

Experience with DOT roadway/highway design projects

Willingness to learn and apply engineering skills in creative, solution-driven ways
