    The Role:

    Under the supervision of the Senior Design Manager, the Engineering Project Manager at Chromalox, is responsible for overseeing and managing the design aspects of engineering projects. As an Engineering Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading and overseeing the daily operations of our dynamic engineering team. You will be responsible for guiding projects from concept to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. The role involves coordinating and leading design activities, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.     Responsibilities:

    • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans that define scope, goals, and deliverables, while outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements. This includes creating and managing project timelines and schedules to ensure the timely completion of milestones, fostering efficiency, maintaining team focus, and work to complete projects within budget and scheduling restraints.
    • Manages all aspects of projects from design to implementation.
    • Prepare and maintain Project Document Schedules and Master Document Lists.
    • Gather and assess project data to identify areas for improvement, proposing effective solutions to enhance overall productivity.
    • Implement risk management plans to address unforeseen challenges during the project.
    • Complete project documentation, handle surplus materials, and prepare the team for the next project.
    • Evaluate project outcomes and implement lessons learned for continuous improvement.
    • Efficiently delegate tasks, breaking down projects into manageable assignments based on the team’s abilities.
    • Manage cross-functional engineering teams and product development sessions, ensuring collaboration, effective communication, and drive innovation.
    • Enforce federal and organizational safety guidelines, fostering a culture of safety awareness within the team.
    • Prepare engineering time and manpower estimates for proposals and orders.
    • Develop practices, standards and SOP's for engineering and leadership in the engineering of project processes.
    • Assure timely communication and resolution of all customer issues and questions.
    • Provide appropriate internal/external personnel with periodic updates and recommendations regarding nature and status of work.
    • Anticipate and plan for changes in project scope, timing, or costs, and prepare documentation for management approval.

    Required Skills

    Required Experience

    • Bachelor's degree in in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field (master's degree preferred).
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a major plus.
    • Advanced knowledge of substation applications, subsystems, field installation and testing.
    • 7+ years of proven experience in engineering project management.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing processes such as heavy equipment mfg., welding technology, control panels with systems-specific pressure vessels, piping, pump, fluid transfer, and heat transfer design experience. Also posses professional experience in project management, process engineering, process operations, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Solid Works, JIRA, and Microsoft Project.
  • Qualifications

    Ability to use analytical methods in underwriting processes to find workable solutions. Ability to communicate findings and recommendations to internal and external contacts on underwriting matters. Ability to communicate effectively with employees on underwriting matters.
