A busy pain management medical practice in Fresno is currently hiring a qualified Psychologist (Psy.D/Ph.D) to provide mental health, cognitive behavioral therapy, and substance abuse treatment to a pain population. The practice is an advanced pain management clinic that deals with a wide variety of chronic pain diseases with a diverse patient population in terms of age, pathology, and treatment modalities. The practice would like to add pain psychology as an in house treatment modality to add to the current pharmacological, procedural, and surgical options. Adding cognitive behavioral therapy and biofeedback would significantly aid the treatment of the majority of our patients. In addition, general therapy, discussion, and maintenance sessions to address other non-pain issues such as depression, anxiety, and coping skills would be invaluable.

Responsibilities:

• Direct Patient Care: Assessment, Diagnosis, Treatment, and Management

• Develop Treatment Plans • Prepare Intake and Session Notes in electronic records program within 24 hours of service provided.

Necessary Qualifications:

• Prior experience providing psychotherapy to pain patients

• Knowledge and experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

• An energetic and positive approach to therapy and an ability to establish rapport with difficult patients
