JOB SUMMARY:

Under direct supervision of IT Staff, participates in an internship program in the Department of Information Technology and complete assignments at incremental levels of complexity as proficiency in various function is gained such as web research, system analysis, programming, installation of software, configuration of hardware, etc. This position enables college students to receive technical training and gain practical experience. Does related work as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• College/University student currently pursuing an undergraduate in computer science, computer technology, computer engineering or related field
• Should be within one year of graduation
• Qualified students should have a minimum GPA of 3.0
• Must have flexible schedule; work within internship program guidelines on part time basis

PREFERRED EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE (ADDITION TO ABOVE):

• 1 year work experience in the financial industry or IT related field

KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS

• Able to support users with PC application issues and provide basic training
• Able to execute and update a PC for uniform desktop deployment
• Knowledge of Microsoft applications like Outlook, Office, Visio, and Project
• Ability to test for basic network connectivity and verify networking information
• Knowledge of how to connect PC's to a wireless network.
• Able to assist and troubleshoot network problems during events.
• Able to disassemble, replace failed parts, install upgrades and reassemble computers
• Understanding of basic network concepts

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Facilitate and participate in meetings to gain process knowledge and guidance on data management
• Assist with testing new or updated software solutions, as required
• Assist with troubleshooting PC hardware and software problems, working with team members to obtain requirements to correct issues
• Assist with ensuring documentation on incidents or requests for support is timely and accurate through our issues tracking application
• Assist with the data verifications of hardware assignments
• Assist with imaging and deploying computer equipment
• Assist with setting up PCs, printers, laptops, scanners, and other peripherals
• Extract data from current systems
• Gain understanding of existing business processes.
