JOB DESCRIPTION 

Robotic Research is seeking a Digital Battlefield Software Developer to support our team at the Picatinny Arsenal military installation located in Wharton, NJ. In this role, you will develop innovative and creative software for battlefield management systems to optimize decision-making on the battlefield, synchronize communications between assets, and increase soldier survivability. You will work closely with software and test engineers developing and testing AI-based decision aids and other supporting software to increase soldier survivability and battlefield dominance. 

A SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE ONE OF OR A COMBINATION OF THESE SKILLS:

• Familiarity with AI algorithms
• Knowledge of database and network systems
  • Large scale distributed mesh network using leading-edge technology
• Experience with user interface development, especially in Linux
• Services-oriented architecture

QUALIFICATIONS

• REQUIRED FOR ALL SPECIALTIES:

  • Proficiency in C++ and/or Java 
  • Familiarity with development in a Linux environment 
  • Working knowledge of Object-Oriented programming 
  • Must have ability to be cleared for a secret security clearance (sponsored by Robotic Research).  Active secret clearance preferred.

• IF WORKING WITH AI: 

  • Proficiency in algorithm development work required
  • Strong Linear Algebra and Calculus skills preferred
  • Experience with machine learning and/or A*, alpha-beta pruning, game theory preferred

• IF WORKING WITH DATABASE AND NETWORK SYSTEMS:

  • Backend development including database design 
  • Working knowledge of UDP/IP and TCP/IP sockets

• IF WORKING WITH UI DEVELOPMENT: 

  • Frontend development/ Graphical User Interface (GUI) design
  • Experience with Qt preferred

• IF WORKING WITH SERVICES-ORIENTED ARCHITECTURE: 

  • Experience with microservices
  • Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, or other container solutions preferred

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field (e.g., mathematics or applied mathematics)
• 0-4 years relevant experience
  • Entry-level candidates will be considered with appropriate education and skills as listed in this posting

• Remote work possible (up to 2 days per week) after on-site training (up to 2 months) at the discretion of management and dependent on performance
