    Roca, Inc is a manufacturing company which manufactures: diced beef, diced pork, corned beef and chorizo among other items. Roca, Inc is located 5 minutes away from Midway airport and is looking for a Quality Assurance/SQF Lead practitioner. The Quality Assurance/SQF Lead Practitioner will help implement and maintain, in conjunction with, Food Safety and Quality Control Manager and QA Technicians, production-related activities to meet USDA and SQF Systems. QA/SQF Lead is responsible to oversee food safety plans, cGMP's, HACCP Plans and SSOP's and take appropriate action to ensure the integrity of the SQF system. The QA/SQF Lead is also responsible for the continuous improvement of the Food Safety and Quality Control programs and ensuring they are up to date.

    Day to day responsibilities include:

    Daily verification and review of documentation related to HACCP and Prerequisite Programs.

    Oversee and assist Quality Assurance Team during daily pre-operational and operational verification, in-process verifications, validations and other line checks throughout the day.

    With the assistance of Food Safety& Quality Control Manager develop preventative QA programs

    Ensure all food safety related documents and records are checked and that current issues are in use.

    Responsible for scheduling and assisting with sanitation inspections, SQF Verification activities and internal audits.

    Comply with all USDA, GMP and GFSI requirements.

    Identify the need of Corrective Actions, responsible for implementation of Corrective Actions and making sure preventative actions are followed.

    Oversee daily production and monitor all quality and food safety records for adherence to specifications.

    Follow and enforce strict manufacturing policies and procedures.

    Making sure all company Food Safety and Prerequisite Programs are followed properly.

    Maintain proper document control and identify issues.

    Ability to work in a fast paced environment

    Work with the USDA – FSIS Inspector on a daily/ongoing basis. Maintain a healthy relationship and assist USDA in all matters as a primary point of contact, along with the Quality Control Manager, on the production floor.

    Helping in preparation and host of Third-Party Audits

    Qualifications:

    Supervisory experience

    High School diploma / GED desired or equivalent

    2 years of experience in QA/QC for a food manufacturer

    Available to work 8 - 10 hours shift

    Experience working with USDA facility

    Knowledge of HACCP, SSOP, SQF and GMP

    Bilingual English and Spanish preferred ( but not a must)

    Ability to work in a cold environment will be exposed to wet and cold conditions

    Physical demands: continuously required to stand or walk, must frequently lift and / or push/ pull up to 50lb with the aid of a team member

    Compensation based on experience.
