Summary Bach to Rock is looking for a dynamic and versatile Rock Band Coach to lead our student bands. This role is ideal for multi-instrumentalists or musicians with the ability to coach standard band instruments (voice, bass, drums, guitar, piano). You’ll guide student groups through rehearsals, help them develop stage presence, and prepare them to perform at local gigs and our annual Battle of the Bands.

This is a part-time position with hours based on band scheduling and performances. The ideal candidate has strong musical skills, a passion for teaching, and the ability to inspire students to work together as a team.

Responsibilities

Coach student rock bands through regular rehearsals

Prepare groups for live performances and competitions (including Battle of the Bands)

Teach collaboration, stage presence, and ensemble performance skills

Support students across instruments (voice, bass, drums, guitar, piano)

Create a fun, safe, and motivating rehearsal environment

Provide constructive feedback and keep rehearsals focused and productive

Collaborate with other instructors and staff to support the B2R band program

Qualifications

Proficiency on one or more instruments (multi-instrumentalist strongly preferred)

Ability to coach across standard band instruments (voice, bass, drums, guitar, piano)

Prior teaching, coaching, or ensemble leadership experience preferred

Outgoing personality with strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to motivate students of different ages and skill levels

Reliable, punctual, and professional

Availability during weekday evenings and weekends (when rehearsals and performances are scheduled)
